Withdrawal Policy

The Global Journal of Multidisciplinary Research (GJMR) adheres to strict ethical guidelines and academic integrity standards when handling manuscript submissions and withdrawals. This Withdrawal Policy outlines the procedures and conditions under which an author may withdraw their manuscript from the journal's review or publication process.

1. Manuscript Withdrawal Before Peer Review:

  • Authors may request to withdraw their manuscript at any time before it enters the peer review process.
  • To withdraw a manuscript, the corresponding author must submit a formal withdrawal request in writing to the editorial team, stating the reason for the withdrawal.
  • The manuscript will be immediately removed from the journal's submission system, and no further actions will be taken.

2. Manuscript Withdrawal After Peer Review Initiation:

  • If a manuscript has already been sent out for peer review, authors may still request a withdrawal, but this will depend on the stage of the review process.
  • If the manuscript has been reviewed or a review is in progress, authors will need to provide a valid reason for the withdrawal, and the journal’s editorial team will assess whether withdrawal is appropriate.
  • Withdrawal at this stage may result in a formal acknowledgment of withdrawal from the journal, but there will be no guarantee of a refund or special consideration.

3. Manuscript Withdrawal After Acceptance but Before Publication:

  • After a manuscript has been accepted for publication but before it is formally published (in print or online), authors can request to withdraw the paper if exceptional circumstances arise.
  • A formal withdrawal request must be submitted to the editorial team, and the request will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
  • The request may be granted based on the circumstances and the status of the article (e.g., if proofs have not yet been finalized or if it has not yet been scheduled for publication).

4. Manuscript Withdrawal After Publication:

  • Once an article has been published online or in print, withdrawal is no longer permitted except in cases of serious errors or ethical violations (e.g., plagiarism, data fabrication, or duplicate publication).
  • If a serious issue with the article is identified after publication, authors should immediately inform the editorial team, who will evaluate the case and may issue a retraction or correction based on the nature of the issue.
  • The retraction or correction will be clearly indicated on the article’s web page, and the original article will remain accessible with a notice explaining the retraction or correction.

5. Author Responsibilities:

  • Authors should inform the editorial team as soon as possible if they intend to withdraw their manuscript to avoid unnecessary delays in the review or publication process.
  • If an article is withdrawn at any stage, the corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that they do not resubmit the same or substantially similar manuscript to the same or any other journal without resolving any issues that led to the withdrawal.

6. Withdrawal Due to Ethical Concerns:

  • If an author decides to withdraw their manuscript due to ethical concerns, the author must provide a clear, transparent explanation for the decision. The editorial team will assess the concerns raised and take appropriate action, which may involve the publication of a retraction if the article has already been published.

7. Impact of Withdrawal:

  • Manuscripts withdrawn at any stage are considered null and void and will not be considered for future publication.
  • Authors who withdraw their manuscript may be subject to a waiting period before submitting any other manuscripts to GJMR, depending on the reason for the withdrawal and the discretion of the editorial team.

8. Withdrawal Fee:

  • GJMR does not charge any fees for withdrawing manuscripts at any stage of the process.
  • However, if the manuscript has already been formatted for publication or proofing has begun, the journal may reserve the right to charge a small processing fee to cover administrative costs.

9. Journal’s Right to Withdraw Manuscripts:

  • The editorial team reserves the right to withdraw a manuscript at any time during the review or publication process if there is evidence of unethical behavior, such as plagiarism, data manipulation, or failure to meet ethical standards outlined in the journal’s guidelines.
  • The journal may also withdraw manuscripts if there is a failure to respond to reviewer comments or adhere to deadlines, which may delay the peer review or publication process.

10. Documentation of Withdrawals:

  • All withdrawal requests will be documented and communicated to the corresponding author. A record of the withdrawal will be maintained for internal reference and transparency.

By adhering to this Withdrawal Policy, Global Journal of Multidisciplinary Research ensures that the manuscript submission process remains ethical, transparent, and fair, protecting the rights of authors and maintaining the integrity of the journal.
